There’s gold on these hills - and maybe in them! Arizona does indeed produce some of those elusive and expensive sparkly rocks, but every spring it has “gold” in a more abundant form - blooming palo verde trees. I took the photo that inspired this watercolor painting at Usery Mountain Regional Park on the outskirts of Mesa, Arizona.
