Flighty but Mighty

Sale Price:$160.00 Original Price:$300.00

Amongst the hordes of chickens and occasional peafowl, a handful of guinea fowls roamed the streets near my home when I lived in Phoenix. These beautiful, fast, and quirky birds are actually native to Africa, but hey, we live in a world marked by globalization, right? I was reading about these funny feathered friends and learned that they are very good at deterring snakes, usually by making intimidating noises. Sometimes they have been known to attack and even kill these slithery serpents. This scene is meant to convey more than a whimsical match between a wacky bird and a well-known venomous villain, though. It is a display of the unpredictability of nature, and the many ways we are stronger than we may believe that we are.

This original painting measures 8x10” and comes in a white mat that brings the overall size to 11x14”. It was created using gouache paint on acid free, hot press 140 lb. Arches watercolor paper and ships free.

Colors of original painting may be slightly different than what you see on your monitor screen. Artist signature, year of creation, and artwork title are included on back of painting. Copyrights remain with artist.
